CONTINUING EDUCATION

Objectives:

Upon completion of the activity the participants will be able to:
  • Apply science, policy, education, program planning, implementation, and evaluation to enhance public health approaches and strategies to prevent and control diabetes.
  • Describe successful, cost-effective, public and private diabetes programs.
  • Develop innovative strategies to increase awareness of diabetes and how to prevent its complications.
  • Identify opportunities for skill-building, information-sharing, and networking.
  • Promote health improvement, wellness, and disease prevention in cooperation with patients, communities, at-risk populations, and other member of an inter-professional team of health care providers.

CME:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this educational activity for a maximum of 14.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
