Continuing Education Credits
An application has been approved to award up to 25.5 Category I Continuing
Education Contact Hours (CECH) for the conference, including pre- and
post-conference workshops, roundtable discussions, oral presentations, and
poster session preparation. SOPHE has been designated as a multiple-event
provider by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC).
Administrative fees for continuing education are included in the conference
registration fees.
Exhibits Grand Opening Reception
SOPHE, DHPE, CDC, and the conference exhibitors and sponsors invite you to
attend the exhibit grand opening social on Friday, June, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, where
you can meet and greet exhibitors, while networking with colleagues. Peruse
information, publications, and tools from an array of companies that help make
doing your job as health education and health promotion professionals much
easier. The exhibits area features table-top displays, materials and resources
from conference sponsors.
Lunch Chats: In Real Time, With Real People
One of the most highly regarded qualities of a professional development
conference is networking and it doesn't get better than this! The conference
offers mini-presentations with discussions on state-of-the-art health education
and health promotion issues related to practice, research, programs, policy,
partnerships, technology, and the profession over lunch. You won't want to miss
the "Hot Topics in Health Education Networking Chats" on Saturday, June 9
beginning at 12:00 Noon to 2:00pm. Lunches are available to all conference
registrants.
Wellness Challenge
Join us in staying fit and active during the conference by participating in
various wellness opportunities. The Renaissance Seattle Hotel has a
complimentary indoor pool, fitness center, hydro pool for your enjoyment. The
conference planning committee is committed to providing healthy foods, and
encouraging healthy behaviors at the conference. Several coordinated wellness
challenge activities will be offered throughout the conference program.
SOPHE Snapshot: What Can SOPHE Do For You
All conference attendees are invited to the SOPHE Snapshot orientation on Thursday, June 7 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm to learn about SOPHE membership benefits, meet leaders and explore how to become involved in a top notch professional association.
DHPE Member Orientation
Join DHPE leadership for an overview of the association. If you are a new member, potential member, or simply want to know DHPE better, join us for this breakfast meeting. It is an opportunity to meet the leadership and learn about strategic directions. The meeting will take place on Friday, June 8, 2007 from 7:00 am ? 8:30 am.
Meeting Mentor Program
The conference meeting mentoring program is a great way for students, new
professionals, and seasoned health educators to learn from each other and expand
their networks. This program joins mentors and protégés over the two and a
half-day conference for dialogue, career advice, and questions about the
profession. Sign up on the conference registration form and indicate if you fall
into the mentor or protégé category. This program is coordinated by SOPHE¡¯s
Student and New Professional Caucus. |
