Plan now to attend the NIOSH-hosted workshop:
"Making Green Jobs Safe: Integrating Occupational Safety and Health into Green and Sustainability"
to be held December 14 - 16, 2009 in Washington, DC.
PURPOSE:
As part of the Prevention through Design (PtD) initiative, NIOSH and its partners are developing a framework to create awareness, provide guidance, and address occupational safety and health issues associated with green jobs and sustainability efforts. GOAL:
Workshop participants will frame the issues surrounding integrating worker health and safety into sustainable and green designs, including the identification of: the motivators, barriers and enablers; the knowledge, skills, process and tools; and the incentives and recognition systems that are needed to assure that worker health and safety becomes an integral component of the new green economy.
