Call For Abstracts
The deadline for abstract submission is 5:00 PM EST - Tuesday, November 22, 2011.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Scientific Themes:

Abstracts should focus on the scientific themes listed below:
  • Burden of Disease (including risk factors and economic studies)
  • Virologic Surveillance
  • Co-infections and Other Respiratory Pathogens
  • Vaccines and Other Interventions

Abstract Presentation Format:
  • Oral Presentations - Oral presentations will be 10 minutes in length followed by a 5 minute discussion period.
  • Poster Presentations - Poster presentations will provide authors with the opportunity to outline the content of their posters to conference participants. In addition, each poster will be displayed for the duration of the meeting and presenters will be asked to be available at their posters at designated times.
Text Formats and Requirements:

Format
  • The online form will prompt you to cut and paste your abstract into the following headings: title, author(s), objective, background, methods, results, and conclusion.
  • Use text only. Do not use italics, diagrams, boxes, borders, or tables. No graphics are permitted.
  • Spell out all abbreviations and acronyms for first reference in the text.
Length
  • Make abstract presentation titles no longer than 25 words.
  • Make abstract text no more than 450 words.
Evaluation Criteria
  • Presentation should relate to one or more of the scientific themes, relate to the overall purpose of the meeting, and be of significant public health importance.
  • Purpose/objectives should be clear and well described.
  • Results or outcomes should be described in the abstract and be relevant to symposium participants.
Submission Method:

Abstracts must be submitted electronically through the conference web site no later than Tuesday, November 22, 2011. An e-mail confirming receipt will be sent to the submitter. If you are unable to submit your abstract online, you may forward your abstract to Kristin Casanas via e-mail at k_casanas@explorePSA.com..

Requirements

In order for your abstract to be eligible for review, it must contain the following information:
  • Abstract submitter's full contact information
  • Abstract Content (i.e. title, author(s), objective, background, methods, results, and conclusion)
Submission Deadline:

Please prepare and submit abstracts according to the instructions by 5:00 PM EST - Tuesday, November 22, 2011.

Confirmation:

We will notify abstract submitters whether the abstract is accepted or rejected by Sunday, December 11, 2011. We will not accept every abstract for presentation. If the abstract is accepted, the submitter will receive a request to confirm availability to attend the conference and make the presentation. Information will be included on the type of presentation format, date, and time in that communication. Submitters are responsible for responding to all notices sent by HRM/PSA on behalf of the abstract.
